- Eversource or UI residential customers installing an approved behind-the-meter battery through a participating contractor, who applies within 6 months of interconnection approval. Rules effective April 1, 2026: active dispatch only (passive dispatch ended for new customers). Grid-edge = top 10% of circuits by major-storm outages since July 1, 2012; underserved = economically distressed municipality (DECD list); low-income = below 60% SMI or on a utility low-income discount rate. Pre-April-2026 enrollees keep legacy upfront rules.
