How much you can get
$3,500 for replacing a gas water heater; $500 for replacing an electric resistance unit (terms updated 2026-05-18). Bonus rebates with a HPWH or heat pump HVAC: $1,000 panel upgrade, $500 smart circuit controller, $1,000 for CARE/FERA customers. A PCE-site page also advertises up to $4,000 for gas replacements completed 2026-09-01 to 2026-10-31; this is not in the terms.
